I live on the Southern tip of Africa, in the beautiful city of Cape Town which has been my home for almost my whole life. I have four kids who keep me busy enough that writing has to happen in my spare time - it's amazing how much time you can find when you stop watching TV ...
When I was a child I discovered something remarkable - that a story is a window to a new world. I have had an insatiable appetite for stories ever since, often, as I am sure many others have felt too, preferring the fictional world to the real one. Sometimes I would get to the end of a book and feel grief for the end of the journey to another land, another universe or another time. Writing my own stories has been almost more wonderful, and I am pretty sure that no one could get more joy from them than I have. Story-spinning is a new adventure and a wonderful one, and I have loved finding my voice. The process of sharing a book with the world is easier than it ever was before, but at the same time there are so many different options, and figuring out how to do this has been a steep learning curve! I have blogged before, about my kids and motherhood, but this time it's all about the books and the stories.
